Care Out Loud: Onslow Mental Health Matters
Care Out Loud: Onslow Mental Health Matters is a community event and initiative created to bring mental health and substance use support into the open. This event is about more than one day. It is the launch of a larger effort to make resources easier to find, conversations easier to start, and support more visible throughout Onslow County.
Care Out Loud brings together local organizations, providers, businesses, advocates, and community members for a day of connection, education, and encouragement. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet local resources, participate in interactive wellness activities, enjoy family friendly experiences, and learn more about the Onslow Mental Health Awareness Coalition.
Why Care Out Loud Matters
Mental health and substance use challenges affect individuals, families, workplaces, schools, and neighborhoods across our community. Many people do not know where to turn, what support is available, or how to begin asking for help.
Care Out Loud was created to help change that.
Through open conversation, community outreach, and resource connection, this initiative encourages people to care out loud for themselves, for their loved ones, and for the community around them.
About the Event
Care Out Loud is designed to be welcoming, interactive, and accessible for all ages. The event will include resource booths, wellness activities, conversation spaces, giveaways, live entertainment, food vendors, and opportunities to connect directly with local organizations.
This is a space for learning, healing, asking questions, building relationships, and discovering the support that exists in Onslow County.
Launching the Onslow Mental Health Awareness Coalition
Care Out Loud also marks the launch of the Onslow Mental Health Awareness Coalition, a collaborative group focused on strengthening mental health and substance use support in Onslow County.
The coalition works to increase awareness, improve access to resources, support collaboration among organizations, and identify community needs and gaps. Together, we are working toward an Onslow County where mental health and substance use supports are more visible, more connected, and easier to navigate.
